The Need
The projected need for cancer services in North Central New Mexico is significant over the next ten years. Projections have shown that a 3% growth rate with an additional 8,000 cancer patient encounters per year is expected. Due to projected growth and the increased prevalence of cancer touching the lives of patients and families of Northern New Mexico, it was determined that our current Regional Cancer Center facility no longer has the capacity to meet this growing need.
The Solution
To help address the need, CHRISTUS St. Vincent has begun construction on a new, comprehensive Cancer Center near our main campus, where patients can get all of their cancer care from start to finish. Pairing state-of-the-art treatment and equipment with wrap-around services and therapies. By consolidating these world-class-services in one place, CHRISTUS St. Vincent will be able to better serve patients who often need to see several caregivers throughout their cancer journeys. Our membership with the Mayo Clinic Care Network will continue to play a vital role in patient care. Through this collaboration, our providers have access to Mayo Clinic knowledge and expertise, including its research, diagnostic and treatment resources. CHRISTUS St. Vincent patients will continue to receive these benefits from these additional resources within our community at no additional cost.
The Result
The new Cancer Center will be located near our main campus and will serve the region of Northern New Mexico and beyond. It will include expanded diagnostics, advanced treatment options, new equipment, access to the Mayo Clinic Network, supportive therapies and more. The new Cancer Center will also help CHRISTUS St. Vincent attract and retain the highly skilled physicians you have come to expect.
