End-of-year tax benefits: Donations made to the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation by December 31 may be eligible for tax deductions. Giving before the year ends is a way to help those in need and receive a tax benefit, making your generosity even more powerful.

In our 40+ year history, the evolution and partnership with CHRISTUS St. Vincent has afforded us many opportunities to collaborate and unify our vision and impact. In 2020, the Foundation partnered with CHRISTUS St. Vincent to employ staff to support the Foundation and provide office space and back-office support. All tax-deductible gifts made to the Foundation benefit hospital programs or support additional fundraising activities. No funds from donors are used to cover any overhead costs because of this partnership.

This alignment furthers our mission to support CHRISTUS St. Vincent in providing exceptional and compassionate healthcare to the community of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.

The Impact Your Gift Can Make

Julia Hansen has been a proud member of the SVHF Board of Directors for 3+ years.

Her journey to joining the Board and supporting SVHF is very personal. In 2020, her partner had a terrible horseback riding accident – a very traumatic scene for her to experience in the Santa Fe National Forest. He was taken to the CSV trauma center by ambulance; however, she had to stay behind to lasso his now bridle-less horse in the National Forest and trailer their horses back to the ranch before racing to the Emergency Room. She arrived at CSVH an hour later, not knowing if he was alive, could move his limbs, or had any brain damage (note: they now wear helmets when riding!!).

The hospital took incredible care of him – and her – during this very difficult time. She says that from the moment she pulled into the emergency room, the staff helped her navigate the injuries, the diagnosis, the risks and potential life impacts with confidence, empathy, and assurance that he was in the best medical care.

They were lucky that he made a quick and full recovery. Julia says, “I’m so grateful for the amazing staff at CSV hospital, not only for their medical expertise and professionalism, but also for the empathy, support, and compassion they provided my family. I’m determined to make every contribution possible to ensure our community continues to get this exceptional level of health care!”
