What an incredible day it was! On Saturday, June 7, our community came together in the most beautiful way at Villa Linda Park for the Trails and Tales 5K Walk – In Support of Children’s Literacy. The love, care, and enthusiasm that was brought to the event filled the park with a spirit of joy and generosity that was truly unforgettable.

Thanks to your support, we raised an amazing $49,000 for the CHRISTUS St. Vincent’s Reach Out and Read Program. These funds will directly support the vital mission of providing books and literacy guidance at every wellness visit in our pediatric clinics—nurturing a lifelong love of reading for children across Northern New Mexico.

The photo below captures just a glimpse of the fun and heartfelt commitment that defined the day. Behind every smile and every step taken was a shared purpose: to lift up our children through literacy and empower families with the tools to grow and learn together.

This year’s Trails and Tales 5K was bigger and better than ever—we doubled our participants, doubled our sponsors, and raised an incredible $49,000 for early childhood literacy!
